It was a speedy result for unemployed Jo from Manchester who joined Ingeus’ WHP
JETS employability scheme and within seven days had accepted a job offer.
Jo had previously worked in the care sector but a back injury meant that she had been searching for a new role that was less physically demanding. She has now secured new accommodation and is employed in a home-based customer service role.
She was initially referred by Oldham Jobcentre Plus to Working Well (Work and Health Programme)
Job Entry Targeted Support (WHP JETS) programme, which is delivered by Ingeus on behalf of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
The scheme helps recently unemployed people who are keen to get back to work and receives support from the European Social Fund.
Jo’s Employment Coach, Danielle Emanuel, arranged for her to take part in an online Ingeus workshop that explained all the services that were available to help improve her CV, interview skills and provide money management advice.
Danielle explained: “As I chatted with Jo, I soon realised that she had skills that could be transferred into other customer service roles. Our team knew of several vacancies that were available and we revised her CV to highlight her relevant experience.
“Seven days after joining WHP JETS, Jo was successful in her interview and was offered the customer service job, but she needed a laptop and headset to undertake her new role. I quickly ordered the required IT equipment and Jo was soon able to start work.”
Jo added: “Danielle really helped me with my CV and I enjoyed the induction session that explained everything that was available with Ingeus. There was hardly any time spent in waiting for something to happen; I am very happy to be working again.”
